Winter is approaching fast and you want to know what that means?… Cold & Flu season is also making an entrance! And don’t forget, Covid is still a thing. I don’t know about you but I personally hate getting sick and I’m sure others feel the same way. So if we don’t like feeling yucky, we need to take the steps to prevent it…
.) Wash your hands! Before and after a meal, after shaking hands with someone, coming home from the grocery store, ect. Wash your hands with warm water for at least 20 seconds.
.) Hands away from your face! Stop touching your mouth, face, and eyes. Germs can easily infect you through those areas. Even if you’re home all day, don’t touch your face. Germs can be anywhere and everywhere! As for the nail bitters, that’s a no no.
.) Sleep. If you are sleep deprived, your immune system will have a negative effect and make you more susceptible to any illnesses. The average adult should get 7-9 hours of sleep every night.
.) Get off the couch! Not only is exercise good for your mental health and weight management, it also has its benefit in boosting your immune system.
.) Have hand sanitizer ready to go. Carry a bottle of hand sanitizer for those times you aren’t near a sink to wash your hands. A good time to lather in sanitizer is after pumping gas or visiting the atm.
.) Six from Sicks! Stay 6 feet away from anyone who is sick. You don’t want to be close enough to them where you can feel the germs landing on you after a sneeze… Yuck! If you are sick, keep from spreading the germs by staying home.
.) Put the fries and coke down… eat more fruits and veggies! A healthy diet is beneficial for weight management and your immune system. Your body needs vital daily nutrients to keep you going!
.) Hydration. Drink the water! It’s not going to kill you… If you’re someone who “doesn’t like water”, add some flavor with fruits.
Your body will thank you and return the favor when you take care of it. Doing these things daily will help your immune system fight off any nasty germs that want to wreak havoc on your body. Stay healthy Arizona!
