Listen, I know… it’s one of those things that needs to be done but never really seems to be on the top of anyone’s to-do list. Often the locations of the filter may be hard to get to, or it’s just something that slips your mind. Here are some reasons you should make it a priority to make sure your filter gets changed.
Cleaner air inside your home. Changing your filters regularly, once a month, is recommended, which will greatly reduce the dust, dander, and pet hair that flies around your home. During the monsoon season in Arizona, there is a greater amount of dust in the air, which means more dust for your filter to catch. If you look, your filters may even be dirtier than the rest of the year.
HVAC efficiency: Think of your A/C filter the same way you think of the lint trap in your dryer; if it doesn’t get cleaned out, your dryer can’t breathe. The same thing is true about your A/C filter. If you have a full filter, your unit can’t breathe. Over time this can make your system work harder than it needs to, and unfortunately, it can shorten the life of your unit. Nothing can work properly without being able to breathe easily, including your air conditioner.
Here is a tip, whatever you use to remember important dates or appointments use to set a reminder to change your air filter. We always recommend changing it at least once a month. If you haven’t changed your filter, this is your sign to check it.
