We all know that our furry or feathered friends have their own world of pros when we bring them into the family, but that is not to say they go without their cons.
With their unconditional love comes their dander and fur/ feathers, which are hard hitters for HVAC systems.

There’s no need to worry any more though! In this article, we’ll give you a few tips to keep your system running as smooth as ever.

1. Stay On Top Of Filter Care
Seeing as how filters are basically doing the heavy lifting in keeping the air circulating in your home clean, it only makes sense to keep them clean too, right?
Replacing it monthly or finding a filter than is reusable and washable can do wonders for keeping your system in check and keeps your air healthy.

2. Keep The Condenser Safe
The condenser is the large metal box outside of your home. Should you have a pooch that relieves itself anywhere in its turf, chances are it will include the condenser.
You can always rinse off any dirt, urine, or fur with a good ol’ hose! Your condenser can definitely withstand water, as it was built to last in storms as well.
Building some sort of barrier around it is also a wise decision, but make sure its about 2 feet from the unit.

3. Groom The Furry Friends
Keeping them groomed means less random shedding. As long as you keep their fur and dander under control regularly, it’s less of a chance that it’ll surprise you come time to change or clean the filter!

4. Rid Home Of Pollutants
How do you do this? Just general upkeep! Vacuuming, sweeping, and dusting does wonders to alleviate the pain of dealing with a malfunctioning AC.

5. Invest In An Air Purifier
Air purifiers are wonderful gadgets that can rid your home of more than just pet dander and fur. They get rid of allergens, viruses, bacteria, dust, and more from your home’s circulation!
It can take serious pressure off of your air conditioner’s work load.
