Keeping Your Best Friend Cool: Celebrating National Dog Day with HVAC Tips
Every year on August 26th, we celebrate National Dog Day—a day dedicated to our loyal, furry companions who bring joy, comfort, and unconditional love into our lives. Here in Arizona, where summer temperatures can soar well into the triple digits, keeping our pets safe and cool is just as important as keeping ourselves comfortable.
At Pro Solutions Air, we know that your HVAC system plays a big role in protecting your pets during these extreme heat waves. In honor of National Dog Day, we’re sharing some tips to keep your four-legged family members cool and healthy:
🐾 1. Keep Indoor Temps Comfortable
Dogs are more sensitive to heat than humans. Even if you can tolerate a warmer house, your pup may struggle. The ideal temperature for most pets indoors is between 75–78°F. Make sure your thermostat is set to keep them safe, especially if you’re away at work.
🐾 2. Change Air Filters Regularly
Pet hair and dander build up quickly in Arizona homes. A dirty filter can block airflow, reduce cooling efficiency, and circulate allergens. Replacing your filter monthly not only keeps your system running smoothly but also helps your pet breathe easier.
🐾 3. Ensure Proper Airflow
Make sure vents aren’t blocked by furniture, pet beds, or toys. Good airflow means every corner of your home stays cool, giving your dog a comfortable space to nap wherever they please.
🐾 4. Consider a Smart Thermostat
Smart thermostats let you control the temperature from your phone. If you’re away and notice the temperature rising outside, you can adjust your AC to make sure your dog isn’t left in unsafe heat.
🐾 5. Schedule Regular HVAC Maintenance
A well-maintained system is less likely to break down during Arizona’s hottest days. Scheduling seasonal tune-ups ensures your AC is working efficiently, keeping both you and your pets safe and cool.
